The real reason for the failure of the Shas rally

If the organizers of the rally had been wise and understanding, all of them, without camps or factions, would have tried to unite all the ranks of the Sephardic public, without exception, and leave all disputes aside for the memory and exaltation of the soul of Maran ztzu"l.

Since Thursday, the Haredi media, websites, and various radio channels have been discussing the origin or what led to the failure of the "Rally of the Hundreds," which was planned to be "the rally of the thousands and the opening shot for the awakening rallies on the occasion of the 11 months since the passing of our great Rabbi, Zetsukellah.".

Spokesmen of various kinds, heads and CEOs past and present, have tried to wonder about the cause of this resounding failure. Perhaps the public, whose longing for Maran, the late, was their faithful shepherd, a judge and the greatest of his generation, whose many would run to touch his lapel, and whose funeral was attended by about a million people, has already fallen asleep...

But the reason is much simpler, and the only wonder is how none of the speakers noticed it.

The public, in its thousands and more, has not forgotten and will never forget Maran Ztzul. The public loves Maran with love of life, no less and I am sure even more than his own life. But on the other hand, the public has begun to abhor politics that consumes every good part, the public has begun to abhor division and the accumulation of power, and even more so when they are on his back.

Not inviting the boys: impudence and audacity

If the organizers of the rally had been wise and understanding, all of them, without factions or factions, they would have tried to unite all the ranks of the Sephardic public, all of them without exception, to leave all the arguments and misunderstandings aside and produce a true awakening rally in memory and to exalt the soul of Maran ztzu"l, and all in Maran's honor. After all, if Maran ztzu"l were still alive, his pure desire would have been to unite the entire public as one man with one heart. After all, not inviting and honoring Maran's beloved sons, his great son the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Shlit"a and his beloved son the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Shlit"a is on the verge of impudence and audacity against Maran and his legacy.

If the organizers of the rally had been wise and prudent to keep politics out of the way - which is and is being updated every day at a new low in the eyes of the public - and without making a profit and making such and such statements, such as "the crown has returned to its former glory and the sons have returned to their borders", then they would have watched and seen how great the love is and how much longing is felt for that beloved and revered leader.

In light of the statements and publications that during the coming month rallies will be held at every site and in every city, the time has not been missed and it is still not too late to unite ranks and make Maran ztzu"l happy, who is sitting and impatiently waiting for this.

And a final point: It was very strange today to hear the outgoing CEO Nati Lasri, the incoming CEO Haim Biton, and Shas member Yehuda Avidan analyze and in some cases even take responsibility for the failure of the status quo. After all, these awakening rallies are (according to the declaration) the result of the initiative and organization of the "El HaMa'ayan" movement, which would not prohibit the Rashal Shlita from participating in the rallies by virtue of his position. Since this is the case, it is perhaps worth suggesting: In this matter too, it is still not too late and we can let El HaMa'ayan CEO Moshe Iloz organize the rallies. I am sure he will do it no less well.
