Band The Schillits, they are not Moishe, Nati and Fini We are collaborating with Galtz's "What If" project.
For the third time since the project was founded, a Hasidic musical ensemble was recruited to sing the song that is most contrary to its meaning: Moonlight of Aviv Gefen.
The Schlitzim Trio has been active for 7 years and they perform and are identified with contemporary Hasidic music, music with a taste of the past, cover versions of the songs of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, and Israeli Jewish music.
""Galtz's project really turned us on," says Moishe Schlitz. ""And although there is seemingly no connection between an ultra-Orthodox band and Aviv Geffen, we discovered that music can connect in an amazing way and bridge the gaps that seemingly exist between us as a people...".
""When we were approached with the idea to sing, it was very strange to digest. It happened long before Aviv approached the ultra-Orthodox and religious public. The Jewish souls connected and it's no longer so strange to sing Aviv in a Jewish accent. As soon as the heart is the common language, the connection of all of us with one people rises and flourishes.".
""No matter who you are, where you came from and where you are going, if you raise your eyes you will see the moon, big and bright, shining on all of us without any difference, secular and ultra-Orthodox, right-wing and left-wing, we don't know if we will succeed in changing the world, but with the right melody we will succeed in loving everyone, see how the heart expands, this is our melody, ours...".
The Corona period effectively halted the brothers' musical activities, and after Passover the trio intends to reunite to release new songs and go on stage.
