Want to be the head of a religious council? This is the path that leads to the coveted positionThe Jerusalem District Court today (Monday) allowed his identity to be published, in accordance with the victim's consent.
The Rebbe, the father-in-law of Malka Leifer, who is accused of committing serious offenses against her students in Australia - where she was extradited last year - is suspected of committing serious acts on numerous occasions when the relative was about 12 years old.
According to a report by Vered Pelman in 'Kan News', additional complaints for serious offenses were filed against Leifer - but the statute of limitations has expired.
He is currently under house arrest and is expected to have a hearing towards the end of the week, before a final decision is made on whether to file an indictment against him.
He denied the acts attributed to him and claimed that the complaint was filed due to a family dispute.
A protective organization supporting the victim said: "We are happy that Leifer's name has been allowed to be published and hope that publishing his name will bring additional complainants to muster the courage to complain against him.
""Unfortunately, for many years people in the community knew and remained silent - which allowed him to allegedly harm other victims. It is time for community members to look within and understand that silencing is the source of evil and to change their attitude.".
""We are proud of the heroic complainants who acted out of a desire to prevent further harm and we are holding their hands.".
