Achinoam Or Hai, 25 years old, is a singer and composer, mother of a child, and lives in Yosifiya.
She writes and composes "Asher Al Liba", and the current single is her second to be released.
The previous song, "Because I'm Here," managed to capture the ears and hearts of women who consume female Jewish creativity, a trend that is developing at this time, of observant female creators who sing only for women, as required by the law.
'"He Who Sits on the Cherubim Has Appeared" is a song that speaks of desire and closeness to God.
""I felt a kind of spiritual enlightenment, a desire and closeness and to feel the love and goodness of God," says Achinoam. "I want to feel unity and closeness to God, but you don't always see or feel the closeness. Sometimes you feel that God hides his face and the world continues to operate as it is, and this is where I began to ask where the essence is? When will my complete redemption come? When will the redemption of the world come? In moments like these, I ask that the One who sits among the cherubim appear and be here with me.".
The inspiration for the song comes from the teachings of Breslov, which Achina'am studies and tries to internalize in her life: "Rabbi Nachman says that whoever wants to find his match should read Parashat HaNasisim, and I want to feel like the Nachasiim who felt the closeness of God. Rabbi Nachman says to keep reading every day, because it 'cleanses us of all lies.' That's what I meant by the words 'The loves of others have fallen upon me..' This is what cleanses us from the opinions of others, from being dependent on others.".
Achinoam says that this point connects to the cherubim: "This is the most real and sacred moment and I completely dissolve and feel no hold on others or confusion. The phrase 'the one who sits on the cherubim appeared' expresses the highest level of revelation and closeness, and this is my expectation in life: that the one who sits on the cherubim will appear to me, that I will see only him.".
