Nice to meet you: Eliyahu Doak, 37, from Avrech, married and father of three.
In his debut song "Mighty Fortress," which he wrote and composed, he takes us on an ancient journey that continues to this day. The song adapts the parable of Rabbi Nathan of Breslov about a fortress that strong and brave soldiers could not conquer, but was ultimately easily conquered with the help of weak soldiers.
Did you divide? For thousands of years we dreamed of Jerusalem, so now we want to dirty it?
""This single was born during my studies," reveals Dweck. "Many times I came across moral and strengthening sermons that spoke to me deeply, and I felt it was a shame not to publish them as a song. I decided to try composing myself. I have always been connected to music, but all of this came down to just listening.".
Eliyahu Dweck doesn't play any musical instruments, he consulted with composer and singer Ari Goldwag, who provided him with tips and referred him to sources that speak to the virtues of singing. "In general, I didn't plan for these songs to come out, but rather for us to sing them at the family Shabbat table...""
Dweck wrote songs and offered them to singers he admired, which prompted him to write and compose additional insights and ideas under a comprehensive musical project "Ed Ya'ala" - to uplift and strengthen the Jewish soul.
For the current song, he chose a friend from the past, Elad Amid - Idan's brother - whom he knew closely in Pisgat Ze'ev, "the neighborhood where we lived, as part of Torah lessons in which we participated, as well as in a lesson for teenagers that I taught in a synagogue. Together, we joined other participants from that lesson - Gilad Chen Yehia and Avichai Katsav, who did everything to produce a perfect work.".
""Mighty Fortress" speaks of our place in the generation of the Messiah, in general - not to despair of the redemption that is yet to come, and in particular - to deal with our trials and not fall from failures. The source, by the way, is cited in the book "Stars of Light" page 4.
