IDF Spokesperson, Brigadier General Ran star, Last night (Tuesday), he addressed the words of a (retired) IDF major general who said on a news channel that he "shares in the families' grief," and MK David Amsalem of the Likud, who announced the deaths of the pilots in a speech in the Knesset plenum - before the matter was allowed to be published.

Did you divide? For thousands of years we dreamed of Jerusalem, so now we want to dirty it?

""I condemn the publication of news regarding IDF casualties in last night's helicopter crash, before their publication was permitted," tweeted Brigadier General Ran Kochav.

He added: "Publishing the announcements before the families of the victims were officially informed, despite explicit requests not to publish the details, is a blatant violation of a procedure that has been respected for decades and is based on concern for the families of the victims in their difficult time.".

""The IDF embraces the bereaved families and will continue to accompany them.".

MK David Amsalem of the Likud apologized this morning for announcing the deaths of the two pilots in the disaster above the Knesset podium without permission from the IDF spokesman.

""MK Amsalem received information last night in the plenary session about the deaths of the two pilots, and was certain that the matter had already been published and was not under a publication ban, so the words were said in error and innocently. Amsalem regrets this from the bottom of his heart and apologizes for the unfortunate error, which was made without malicious intent," his office said.

The chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee, MK Ram Ben Barak, also apologized for violating censorship regulations from the Knesset stage. "This was a mistake following an incorrect report and I deeply regret it," he said.

Last night he announced: "I would like to update that everyone who was on the helicopter was rescued and it appears that there are no injuries.".

Diaspora Minister Nachman Shai responded to the publication of details of the disaster before they were allowed to be published: "The IDF spokesman's handling of the situation in the age of social media is hopeless. One must announce the deaths in an event that is exposed to the public eye, even before the families have received the message.""
