A recording of them was posted on social media, spending time at a local restaurant in the Syrian capital.
One of the participants in the visit, who spoke to Kan News and asked to remain anonymous, said that they came mainly to get dental treatments - which are cheaper in Syria than in the United States.
In a conversation with reporter Roy Keyes, the Jew noted that they met with the Jews who remained in Damascus, apparently three in number. According to him, it was a private visit, without political connections.
He also claimed that they received a request to meet with senior government officials in Damascus, a meeting that did not take place.
He said they were welcomed by the residents.
""Everyone understood from our language that we were Syrian Jews, everyone remembered us," he said. "We went to the shops in every area. They recognized us and told us - 'Welcome,' this is your country, why don't you go back? Look what happened to the country, please go back.".
Assad is trying to improve his image in the world by courting Syrian Jews.
