The band "Yom Hashimi", consisting of the two brothers Benzi and Shmulik Marcus, releases its ninth album - "Mazal".
The Los Angeles-based band has had many hits that have been very successful both internationally and in Israel. They sing in English, Hebrew, and sometimes with touches of Yiddish.
The two, Chabad followers, write and create original songs about life, about Jewish topics, and especially about Chabad teachings and insights.
The album's title and the title song (Lucky), "Mazal," are based on the Lubavitcher Rebbe's speech in the article "Batei Legani.".
Shmulik Marcus explains: "The idea of luck and its place in the Jewish world stems from the privilege we have, 'We are blessed... that we are the generation that can bring the Messiah!'".
Along with developing Hasidic ideas, Shmulik promises that the new album contains additional gems that will lift the spirit and make the mind smile.
""The new album has it all," says the other half of the band, Benzi Marcus. "We challenged ourselves more than ever - both in lyrics, melodies and even arrangements, so that everyone can find a corner in the album that will make them happy. The new album includes songs that will inspire you, songs that will make you dance, and lyrics that will make you ponder even after the song has finished playing...".
Along with new songs, the new album also includes the singles Elka Damair, Rollin, a remix of the past hit Tracht Gut, the Tefillin song, and more, for a total of 11 exciting tracks on the album.
The eighth-day duo lives in the US, but is very loved in Israel. Their songs are frequently played on radio stations and their hits have been successful in the charts.
