The management of the Kaplan Medical Center decided today (Monday) not to fire the two brothers from the hospital who took a "selfie" with terrorist Mekdad al-Qawasmi from the Hamas terrorist organization, who is hospitalized in the hospital after beginning a hunger strike.
MK Amichai Shikli called on Twitter for the two to be fired: "Peace to the pair of medical staff members at Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot, who thought it was cool to take a selfie with a Hamas terrorist from Hebron. I will contact the hospital management demanding their removal, and the Ministry of Health to shamefully remove them from public healthcare in Israel.".
However, the hospital management decided, as mentioned, to settle for a clarification only.
""The employees in question were summoned for a disciplinary hearing by the hospital management, during which the seriousness of the matter was explained to them, and they expressed regret for their actions," the hospital said.
The chairman of the 'Im Tirtzu' movement, Matan Peleg, called on the hospital management to fire those who hugged the terrorist: "The management of the Kaplan Hospital has failed severely. The moment a hospital employee hugs and takes a picture with a terrorist, there is no room for clarification and no room for apology.".
""Every day that the hospital continues to employ those employees is a dangerous day for patients who come to be hospitalized at the hospital. In the face of support for terrorism, there are no inquiries and no hesitations. Immediately fire the supporters of terrorism.".
