A clash on Twitter between News 13 commentator Baruch Kara and News 12's senior political commentator, Amit Segal.

It all started when Segal criticized an article he published that read: "As part of the re-education policy of Israeli judges, five different articles were recently published stating that the Netanyahu trial is being mismanaged, the investigation of witness Yeshua is being botched, and in general - why not move forward with a conviction already. Below is an example from an article by a Channel 13 commentator on Walla, who misses David Rosen, the efficient judge from Holyland.".
Segal continued: "And now for the outrageous facts, which as usual refuse to be impressed by articles: Shmuel Dechner, the central witness in the Holyland trial, was questioned for 54 meetings in cross-examination and would have been questioned more and more if he had not passed away. Health and longevity to Ilan Yeshua, who was questioned for about half of that number.
""Netanyahu's trial is being delayed because of investigative materials that were not handed over to the defense; because of a carelessly drafted indictment; and most importantly - because, contrary to the one-sided narrative that has been marketed since the first day of the investigation, this is a complex case, far from a sure conviction. The three judges serve in a district court, not in a field court. That's life.".
Kara shared Segal's tweet and wrote that it was an "embarrassing display of ignorance" - and explained:
""Shmuel Decner testified in the trial of 16 defendants. In the cross-examination of defendant 8 (Ehud Olmert) he died. Case 4000 is a case against two defendants, and we have been with this witness for six months. It doesn't matter right now who is trying to smear. In the article I emphasize that I have no objection to the defense attorneys. In the end, a trial must be conducted, and that is the job of the judges.
""Your ugly insinuations about a briefing are a kind of slander, but they probably stem from your habits with Netanyahu and are a psychological projection. Well, I didn't receive any briefing on the subject. I just sit in the courtroom a lot and see how the trial is going. You're welcome to come visit.".
Segal tweeted in response: "Who volunteers to advise Baruch that it is not worth accusing others in an embarrassing display of ignorance when, in an embarrassing display of ignorance, he reveals that he has no idea how many defendants there are in Case 4000? Three defendants, not two.".
Baruch Kara replied: "How pathetic of you, immediately following the thread, a minute later, the correction appears. You were caught red-handed and you are trying to throw grains of sand back. Next time, invest your energy in fact-checking; it is better than reciting nonsense you received.".
