The Jerusalem Municipality is embarking on a unique project of its kind in Israel on the occasion of the High Holy Days, in which hundreds of life-saving defibrillators will be installed in synagogues in Jerusalem.

As part of the initiative, the Jerusalem Municipality is calling on the city's synagogue collectors to submit a request on the municipal website or through the community administrations.

The operation is the result of an initiative by Mayor Moshe Leon, with the aim of equipping all synagogues in the city with defibrillators for the High Holy Days and Tishrei holidays, which are characterized by large crowds gathering for prayers in synagogues.

It should be noted that the device is a device that can be operated independently, without prior medical training, and is intended to save lives in the event of cardiac arrest until the arrival of emergency teams.

Over the coming weeks, the stations will be installed in synagogues throughout the city for the benefit of worshippers and the general public, with the aim of saving lives.

The municipality stated that this is the first operation of its kind in Israel and is large in scope in terms of the number of devices that will be installed in synagogues.

Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon: "Installing defibrillators in synagogues will make the synagogue a safer place. The devices will provide an immediate and life-saving response in times of need, not only to synagogue worshippers but also to surrounding residents.".
