A day before the children were released home - on Thursday, the camp management, which was attended by about 600 campers and staff members, conducted coronavirus tests for the campers and instructors.
It should be noted that the children of the camp, including those who tested positive, participated in the celebration of the completion of the "Torah Book of the Children of Israel" held on Thursday at the Western Wall Plaza, with the participation of dozens of Chabad Hasidim - and the concern is that they infected hundreds of participants at the event.
Medical officials recommend that everyone who attended the Torah Knesset celebration undergo a coronavirus test.
It should be noted that at the camp in Netanya, verified guides and children were also discovered - and the Ministry of Health ordered tests to be conducted and they entered isolation.
In addition, Chabad campers gathered together this week at the water park in Shafayim, where over 100 confirmed patients were staying, including students from a summer yeshiva in Migdal HaEmek.
Currently, in Kfar Chabad alone there are 43 coronavirus patients.
Camp management response:
""As you know, the management of the 'Gan Israel - Holy Land' summer camp network has taken all the necessary precautions, and even much more, to prevent the coronavirus from entering the summer camp grounds. An effort that has proven particularly effective, in the summer yeshiva and at the girls' camp (Chabad girls).
However, despite our many efforts, unfortunately there are quite a few campers who tested positive for the coronavirus in a test conducted at our initiative, at the boys' camp, on Thursday, 21st of May in Menachem Av.

Why should young people get vaccinated against the coronavirus in the 'between times'?
Based on the conversation that took place between the camp management and the Ministry of Health, we would like to update you with the following details:
All campers, including vaccinated and recovering campers, who received a positive result from the test that took place on Thursday night in the camp area must follow all Ministry of Health rules that apply to confirmed coronavirus cases.
Vaccinated and recovering people who received a negative result are not required to isolate, but according to the Ministry of Health, they are also recommended to undergo a test as soon as possible, in order to rule out infection.
The remaining campers who received a negative test result are required to go into isolation for 14 days from the date of last contact with positives. (Friday, July 21st, Menachem Av, July 30th is the last day of contact, so the day of departure is Thursday, July 12th).
The isolation days can be shortened to 7 days by performing 2 negative tests:
First check - as early as possible.
Second test - will be performed no earlier than Thursday, 27th of Menachem Av, 05.08.
After receiving the second negative result, you can leave isolation.
To avoid any doubt: the test performed on Thursday night in the camp will not count as one of the two tests for the purpose of shortening the isolation period, since the last contact took place on Friday.
