The Herzliya Magistrate's Court today (Tuesday) approved an agreement reached between Yair Netanyahu and Wexner Foundation graduates, as part of a mediation agreement that received the force of a judgment.

The decision reads: "The court congratulates the parties on reaching an agreement in this case. The mediation agreement signed between the parties is hereby given the force of a judgment.".
The agreements were reached after 75 Harvard University graduates on Wexner Foundation scholarships filed a lawsuit for one million shekels against Yair Netanyahu for defamation in tweets he posted on social media.
The lawsuit claims that Yair Netanyahu's words are "venomous, false and baseless" - which led to damage to the plaintiffs' good name, credibility and professional standing.
According to the agreements, Yair Netanyahu will delete three tweets from his Twitter account against the foundation's graduates.
In addition to removing the tweets, Yair Netanyahu will post a clarification on his Twitter account - in the following terms: "During the months of March-June 2020, I published offensive posts on social media towards Wexner Foundation alumni. After examining myself, I believe that my statements in these posts were incorrect, inappropriate, and I find it appropriate to apologize for them.
""I have removed these publications and urge others not to publish similar things and to remove any copy of my publication.".
The prosecutors stated: "For a period of time, Yair Netanyahu published and spread lies that were serious in nature, extreme in their language, and cast aspersions on the actions of each and every one of the program's graduates. These are senior public service officials who went to study at one of the best academic institutions in the world with the goal of returning to serve the public.".
""The defamatory statements published by Yair Netanyahu caused real damage. Anyone who publishes false and inciting statements against a public servant should know that they are likely to be sued - be it a person or an organization - and will examine their statements before publishing them and not after filing a lawsuit. We will not hesitate to file additional lawsuits against anyone who continues to spread lies about us.".
