Following the decision, the security for the three will end in about five months.
The committee, headed by Minister Matan Kahane, also adopted the Shin Bet's recommendation regarding the security of former prime ministers Ehud Barak and Ehud Olmert. According to the decision, this will continue until March 2022 - and will be re-examined then.
Last January, the committee approved extending security for then-Prime Minister Netanyahu's wife, Sara, and their children, Yair and Avner, for a year after Netanyahu's term ends. This was due to what was then defined as "current security threats.".
The current chairman of the Ministerial Committee for General Security Service Affairs is Naftali Bennett. The committee includes Defense Minister Benny Gantz, Public Security Minister Amar Bar Lev, Justice Minister Gideon Sa'ar, Intelligence Minister Elazar Stern, and Religious Affairs Minister Matan Kahane.
