Data presented to the Ministry of Health shows that those who recover from coronavirus have greater protection against infection than those who are vaccinated, reported Meir Marciano, health correspondent for News 13, this evening (Monday).

It should be noted that there are 6 times more Israelis who are vaccinated than recover from the virus.

In the renewed outbreak that began in May, about 7,700 new confirmed cases were added. According to the data, only 72 of them - which is less than one percent - are recovered people who were reinfected, while about 3,000 of them - which is about 40% of the total confirmed cases, are Israelis who were infected despite having received vaccines.

According to this calculation: There are 40 times more confirmed vaccinated people re-infected with the virus than the number of confirmed recoveries.

At this point, experts still have no explanation for the phenomenon.

Some claim that the data shows for the first time that those who recover do indeed have long-term protection, but on the other hand, there are those who claim that the current wave of illness will no longer spread in sectors with a high percentage of recoveries, such as the Haredi sector.

The Ministry of Health has been discussing in recent days the new restrictions plan that will be submitted to the Corona Cabinet tomorrow.

Details of the plan being formulated were published this evening on 'Kan News', with the ministry's position being to reduce morbidity and not wait for the number of seriously ill patients to increase, and the main recommendation is a 'softened green note'.

The plan to be presented will include: entry to mass events only for those who have been vaccinated and tested, a monitoring app for those in isolation instead of an electronic bracelet, and increased enforcement of restrictions at mass events.

Additionally, over the past two days, the Ministry of Health has been holding discussions with the police about enforcement capacity and the deployment of police officers to enforce the restrictions on entry to mass events.

In addition, the number of patients in serious condition increased by six today, five of whom are vaccinated. One of them is a 41-year-old woman who was not vaccinated.
