And that's what happened this week to a police officer.
Chief Inspector Lee Pearl Bahiri, an investigations officer in the Investigations Section at the National Headquarters, left for her workplace in Jerusalem this morning. She was expecting a normal day, but her daily commute took a different and challenging turn.
When she arrived with her vehicle in the Latrun area, a man approached her and asked her if she knew the child?
Chief of Staff Bahiri immediately realized that there was a woman in the nearby vehicle in a complex situation and only she could provide initial assistance and assist her.
She approached the car and indeed saw a woman as the labor began.
The investigation officer didn't think twice and began giving birth to H., a resident of Kiryat Gat - until a successful delivery on the way.
Minutes later, with the experience still powerful, the police officer said: "The moments of the baby's birth were like an eternity for me... The silence at first was very worrying, but then came the crying that symbolized the giving of life and I calmed down. I had never felt such emotions and such a feeling. I was simply an instrument in the hands of God.".
A day later, when the mother had recovered, Lieutenant General Lee Pearl Bahiri visited her and the newborn at the Jerusalem hospital.
