Maj. Gen. (res.) Amos Yadlin, former head of the Institute for National Security Studies, does not deny News 13's revelation that he received an offer from Naftali Bennett to be appointed head of the National Security Staff in the Prime Minister's Office.
'"Bennett is a very talented man, I know him, he was with me a lot at the institute, he briefed us, we did work during the Corona period together," Yadlin told Razi Barkai on Galei Tzahal. "It's hard for me to believe that in the 12 hours from the time he was sworn in until the news was published... look at what he had to do: prepare a speech, take the oath of allegiance, make sure everyone votes, hold a cabinet meeting, overlap with his predecessor, receive important briefings and a conversation with President Biden.".
Yadlin told Razi Barkai: "Like you, I heard on the radio that the prime minister is recommending that ministers keep the directors-general and not rush to appoint new ones, and I heard that he has in the meantime extended the term of Meir Ben-Shabbat, who is an experienced head of the National Security Council. I dealt with national security, all my life I have dealt with the existence of nuclear programs that threaten the State of Israel.".
Hodya Karish Hazoni, the political correspondent for Makor Rishon, tweeted last night about the news: "The Prime Minister's Office claims regarding the publication about her appeal to Amos Yadlin regarding the position of head of the National Security Council: a complete fake.".
The surfers all responded with mockery: "On the right, what is denied is a sign that it is true.".
Yadlin, former head of the intelligence department and IDF attaché in Washington, is a leftist.
Yaldin, who served as chairman of the Institute for National Security Studies - a left-leaning institute - praised former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for implementing the disengagement plan, and noted that "If I could, I would put a flower on Ariel Sharon's grave every day for liberating Israel from 1.7 million Palestinians.".
In January 2015, he announced his joining the Zionist camp, and Yitzhak Herzog and Tzipi Livni declared him their candidate for the position of Minister of Defense.
Ahead of the elections for the 21st Knesset, he expressed support for Blue and White.
The report drew criticism from right-wing MKs and media figures.
