A heated confrontation shook the Knesset plenum this morning (Wednesday), following the interview that Joint List MK Ofer Kassif gave to CNN, in which he accused: "Netanyahu of being an arsonist and a psychopath, he ignited the fire in Gaza in order to stay in power.". Deputy Minister of Health, MK Yoav Kish, who came up to answer a question submitted by MK Kassif, referred to the interview in question: "With delusional discourse that is disconnected from reality, you have simply caused wild incitement, which could ultimately lead to murder. Your words in the interview yesterday in the international media about the Prime Minister are a shame to the Jewish people and the State of Israel. You have caused serious incitement that could also lead to murder. You are inciting the murder of a Prime Minister. You son of a bitch. This is treason. "You are a traitor and we don't need you here. You are a shame on yourself, you are simply a disgrace, look at what kind of democracy we have here and you are harming the State of Israel during a war, shame on you, simply treason for its sake. Zero zero. You are a despicable person who should not be in this Knesset." Kassif attacked in response: "You are a fascist and a war criminal. Anyone who calls justified criticism of the government treason is a clear fascist. You are inciting and using the inflationary name of traitor against anyone who criticizes the government." Kassif repeated his claim: "The prime minister deliberately ignited the incendiary fire in order to remain in power and escape justice. Coming out against the ruler, against the government, against the party and the government is a legitimate and necessary part of a democratic regime. I am proud to belong to a list that is in opposition and works for all of Israeli society and its citizens. To present this as treason is the incitement of a fascist.". After an exchange of words between Kassif and Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin, Kish continued: "What you are doing is exactly treason. You are a criminal, a preacher liar and you will cause murder. Missiles are falling on the homes of Israeli citizens, people in shelters, and you have no shame. He is a despicable man, your place is in a madhouse." Kassif: "You are a fascist and a war criminal." MK Kassif was interviewed yesterday by the American network CNN, and said: "Netanyahu himself and the thugs around him, the thugs called the Israeli government, are responsible for the arson. He started the fire intentionally. It is no coincidence that the arson began on the same day, more or less, that the mandate to form a government passed from Netanyahu to Yair Lapid. ''Netanyahu started the fire as soon as he realized that he could not form a government. Therefore, he is responsible for the bloodshed.
