48 hours before the end of Netanyahu's mandate: Rabbi Tzvi Tau, Rosh Yeshiva of Har HaMor, published a dramatic letter this evening (Sunday) in which he calls for action to establish a right-wing government, consisting of 59 seats, headed by Benjamin Netanyahu.

The meaning of the letter is that the rosh yeshiva and spiritual leader of the 'Noam' party is paving the way for Netanyahu to form a right-wing government, based on avoiding the Ra'am party. However, the rosh yeshiva only has direct influence over the 'Noam' representative, MK Avi Maoz.
The Otzma Yehudit faction stated: "There is no change in the Otzma Yehudit position. We will not allow reliance on supporters of terror and we will not give power to Mansour Abbas.".
Rabbi Tao explained his decision in a letter:
""These days, amidst the terrible shock of the great disaster that befell all of Israel in the midst of the joy of rejoicing in Meron, our thoughts are awakened to observe and listen to the voice of God speaking to us through the events, to purify our hearts and remove from us the terrible scourge of fueling the gratuitous hatred that threatens, through the insolent expressions of its hatred, and the propaganda of its preaching, the strength of our state and the stability of the governing order for the advancement and prosperity of the state.".
Rabbi Tao further emphasizes that hatred and slander against the Prime Minister must be rejected: "More strongly, and therefore, we must reject with disgust, the propaganda of hatred and slander regarding the honor of our Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. The Prime Minister's great success in strengthening the country's resilience, in standing up to Israel's enemies who are out to destroy us here in the country, in changing the regional equation in standing up to the peoples of the world against Iran's dangerous plot, in bringing medical and economic relief to Israel in the face of the Corona pandemic, has caused, to our regret and shame, various elements who are trying to harm the country's resilience to create false, incessant propaganda, rife with personal hatred and good intentions, the sole purpose of which is to oust the Prime Minister by spreading division among the public on the one hand and preparing legal hate letters against the Prime Minister on the other.".
The yeshiva head noted the dangers of establishing a left-wing government: "The plot of the extreme left, the leaders of the 'state of all its citizens,' is not only to oust Benjamin Netanyahu and establish a government whose political-security policy will be fundamentally devoid of arrogance and is liable to cause serious damage to our stand against Iran and our stand for the integrity of our country, while promoting the false idea of 'two states for two peoples.' Rather, their trend is much more dangerous and serious, in all issues related to weakening the state as the nation-state of our people.".
""The 'progressive' extreme left is prepared to realize its dangerous ideas, such as repealing the Nation-State Law, and declaring the state a state of 'all its citizens,' by harming the IDF as the people's army prepared to defeat our enemies, and by promoting 'post-modern' ideas in general, such as distorting personal and family consciousness through the education systems, and by further harming the Sabbath as the sacred day in the Jewish state, by abolishing the Chief Rabbinate and separating religion from the state, thereby creating a separation between the parts of the nation, and all in a series of destructive laws that will of course include the reinforcement of the status of the legal system as decisive in every ethical and national question.".
Rabbi Tau states: "Relying on non-Jews to establish a government, even in the 'Return and Do Not Do', is a great blasphemy. However, agreeing to lend a hand to the destructive plots that Israel's enemies expect, in the cancellation of the State of Israel as a Jewish state and all that entails, is a terrible blasphemy of God. On the contrary, the success of establishing a government that will care for the welfare of Israel, that will care for the holy things of Israel, is the greatest sanctification of God, and 'greater is the sanctification of God than the blasphemy of God.'".
""This government, which will lead the nation with the pride of the name of God called upon it, will add strength to our people and increase the holiness of God. Soon, right now, additional forces will join it that will be freed from false ideas, and there will be no need to rely on those who are not Jews. Therefore, I call on everyone who has the power to do everything in their power to give our Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the power to form the government, to gather around him all the forces that have a Jewish heart among them, and to continue to lead the people of Israel for the sake of his people and his heritage.".
