Towards the Rashbi's celebration: The Ministry of Transportation has launched an automated telephone hotline numbered 03-9411000 - a hotline available 24 hours a day, providing up-to-date information on the public transportation system in Meron.
Since it was launched last Friday, the hotline has received over 23,000 calls.
At the automated call center, you can receive all the information about the options for purchasing tickets in advance for travel to Meron, through the transportation companies 'Egged' - in Jerusalem, Bnei Brak and Ashdod, 'Nativ Express' - in Beit Shemesh, Haifa, Afula, Rechsim, Safed and Netanya, 'Kavim' - in Elad, Beitar Illit and Modi'in Illit, 'Superbus' - in Tiberias, and 'Dan Badrom' - in Kiryat Gat, Netivot and Ofakim.
Through the computerized system, you can obtain information about all public transportation lines to Meron, advance ticket sales points, departure points in the various cities, and the operating hours of the lines when traveling to and from Hiloula in Meron.
For the benefit of those celebrating, all information is also published On the website of the National Public Transportation Authority at the Ministry of Transportation.
Also, as part of the preparations and in order to streamline the service and inform the public, the Ministry of Transportation is operating steward teams who will distribute orientation maps and directions to parking lots to festivalgoers, and a staffed information and guidance station will be operated on the mountain throughout the festival hours, which will help passengers locate their departure station.
Please note: On Shabbat night, traffic and public transportation arrangements on the mountain will change, and the various terminals will be used by other public transportation lines. An updated map of the arrangements will be distributed on Shabbat night, and revelers should act accordingly.
The Ministry of Transportation notes that travel on public transportation lines to and from Meron will be carried out using round-trip tickets only, purchased in advance, for each passenger and for each age, except for trips from Tiberias and Safed.
Pre-booking seats is also mandatory for passengers using any type of travel arrangement, including daily, monthly, or annual passes, as well as any other travel arrangement. The purpose of pre-booking is to ensure in advance the trip to and from Meron, at the desired date and time, to prevent congestion, and to allow public transportation operators to prepare for transportation in the best possible way.
