Launch The fourth generation In Israel, the speed is increasing Mobile browsing - This is according to the Ookla International Speed Index. The average cellular browsing speed in Israel jumped from 5.58 megabits per second in June - to 7.78 megabits in July and to 8.27 megabits in August. The jump in July and August is linked to the launch of fourth generation.

Ookla's index is one of the most important and reliable indexes for testing browsing speeds. The site draws its data from hundreds of thousands of surfers who perform speed tests across the country, and is therefore considered very reliable, because it relies on real results from customer measurements as widely as possible, rather than through spot speed tests.

The index shows that in June Israel was in 63rd place among countries in the world; in July it jumped to 51st place in the world thanks to partner, which has already launched the fourth generation among its employees and customers; in August, Israel climbed 3 more steps and reached 48th place, when Cellcom andCell phone Join.

Let us recall that in Israel the launch of the fourth generation is limited and restricted due to the low bandwidth allocated to cellular companies, and therefore it is expected that in the coming months there will be a further increase in speeds, and even more so when the frequency tender, which is expected to be held in November, ends.

The index also shows that the highest cellular browsing speed was recorded in August by Partner, followed by Cellcom and then Pelephone.

Partner, according to the index, has clearly led the browsing speed in the past year. Pelephone and Cellcom alternate between them for second and third place, with Pelephone leading most of the time. This month Cellcom moved to second place, but for several consecutive months before that, Pelephone was in second place.

An interesting point is that Hot Mobile, which appears in the index as MIRS (under its old name), is consistently in third and fourth place, but Golan Telecom consistently appears as having the slowest speeds. This may be related to an intentional speed limit or for unclear reasons.

Partner's speed in August was 9.38 Mbps, Cellcom's was 7.84 Mbps, and Pelephone's was 7.37. In July, Partner's speed was 9.32 Mbps, Cellphone's was 6.45 Mbps, and Cellcom's was 6.27 Mbps.
