MK Bezalel Smotrich responded this morning (Sunday) to Amit Segal, the senior political commentator for News 12 - who claimed that the chairman of the Religious Zionist Party is interested in forming a government headed by Bennett and Lapid, and tweeted, "He who rejects in a meme is rejected.".
Smotrich's response came after the News 12 website wrote that Smotrich prefers a Lapid-Bennett government over a right-wing government with the support of Ra'am.
Segal tweeted the title on his Twitter account and added: "Not only is it better, Smotrich wishes it was. This way he will lead religious Zionism alone.".
To this, Smotrich responded: "The one who rejects, in a nutshell, rejects. Amit Segal is a brilliant political commentator. He made his career from analyzing sophisticated political moves. He and his ilk will do everything to make sure that you don't think for a moment that there is ideology in politics. Simply because when politics is based on ideology and values, their profession will become redundant.".
Smotrich added and claimed: "Ideological moves by politicians are simple, transparent and really unsophisticated. They are laid out in front of the public in the most open way and without the need for mediation and the learned explanations of brilliant commentators. But don't worry, a meteor like Segal won't give up. Not when politicians threaten his livelihood. It's not all peer politics. Get used to it.".
