The committee includes City Council members from Shas, United Torah Judaism, and Likud.
Yaakov Wider, a member of the Bnei Brak City Council and chairman of the Likud faction, posted on his Facebook page: "As a member of the municipal naming committee, I intend to continue fighting to correct the long-standing injustice until, in Bnei Brak, as in most cities in Israel, the memory of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, and Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu, may the memory of the righteous be blessed.""
Vider attacked the mayor and his deputies, writing: "It is impossible for activists to use pictures of rabbis in the election campaign for their personal needs, but then denigrate their memory and honor and immortalize all kinds of cronies in their place.".
