In an interview he gave to Amnon Sofer on Radio Darom, Sa'ar claimed that Bennett "presented a story" in the form of seemingly fictitious polls - about a low number of seats for a new hope: "A false story of a wretched person, a person who has already failed to pass the electoral threshold once, so he goes around selling lies to journalists. We already have one fraudster, we don't need to imitate him in fraud as well. There are codes of values and behavior that are not violated even in times of pressure.".
Sa'ar referred to the pledge Bennett made last night on Channel 20 that he would not sit in Lapid's government - and said: "It is very unfortunate that in the last stretch of the election campaign Bennett showed an inability to stand firm and signed this childish document, which is essentially a document of loyalty to Netanyahu. He showed personal dishonesty and it is a shame that he acted this way.".
Saar continued to attack Bennett: "He made up a story. He knows very well that he is going down in the polls and I am going up. In the last poll published last Friday, he had 10 seats, how did he emerge first with a poll of 6 seats? Who is he telling this to? What, did he do a poll on Saturday? He is simply a liar. Naftali Bennett responded to Sa'ar's harsh words: "I don't want to catch a man in his hour of need. After he ran a long, anonymous campaign against me, he said he would stop. He couldn't stand it. We'll have to work together, I don't want to go into personal areas. I say unequivocally - I am not committed to either the 'Netanyahu cult' or the 'Netanyahu-only cult.' These cults led to four election campaigns in two years and I don't want to make that happen.".
Maimina responded to Sa'ar's remarks by saying: """Gideon's Defector Party has collapsed and is struggling to reach the threshold because the public is fed up with Sa'ar's political activity and wants the leadership and action of Naftali Bennett, who will jumpstart Israel's economy by sharply and immediately lowering the tax burden.".
In an interview on 103FM radio, Bennett clarified, in light of his pledge not to sit in a government headed by Lapid: "I pledge one thing - I will not let Lapid, Bibi, Gideon or Yvette drag us into a fifth election, therefore I am not willing to commit to any party about anything. I pledge that there will be no fifth election.".
