Fire and rescue teams called to the scene found the toddler with his entire body hanging in the air, having managed to squeeze through the bars. Under private supervision, only the fact that his head did not pass through prevented him from falling from the second floor.

The team leader held the toddler while a firefighter rescued him through the bars, using a rescue kit.

Team Commander, Sergeant Yaakov Zana: "Shortly after 7:00 PM, a call was received at the Fire and Rescue Command about a toddler in danger of life. When we arrived at the scene, we saw a toddler about two years old with his entire body hanging outside the window bars. We immediately began operations using a dedicated rescue kit, which fortunately ended well.".

MDA emergency medical technician Shraga Rosenthal said: "When I arrived at the building from the street, I saw the toddler hanging by his neck on the railing between heaven and earth with his mother holding him. I realized that every second was critical and I immediately ran to the house on the second floor.

""I replaced the exhausted mother and through the bars I hugged the toddler with all my strength so that he wouldn't fall, while at the same time another MDA medic stood under the window with his arms outstretched to catch the toddler if, God forbid, he fell.

'"The firefighters who quickly arrived at the scene widened the bars with special equipment and we brought the toddler back home safely.".

""We examined him medically and, to everyone's delight, he was not injured and did not need to be evacuated to the hospital. The incident could have ended in a great tragedy, and I urge parents and adult family members to make sure to keep a close eye on the children, especially now that everyone is busy cleaning for Passover.""
