Former Knesset member Oren Hazan responded to the congratulations on the occasion of the "brit milah" performed by Tzachi Halevi and Lucy Aharish for their newborn son, and called for "no assimilation - the people of Israel are alive.".

Last week, media personality Lucy Aharish gave birth to a son.

Muslim Harish and her husband, actor Tzachi Halevi, held a "brit milah" ceremony for him yesterday and named the baby Adam Aharish Halevi.

On social media, many wished his family and "Grandpa Amnon and Grandpa Ma'ruf" a happy birthday.

The one who commented on the 'celebration' was former MK Oren Hazan - who wrote on his Facebook account:

""My dears, I don't want to ruin the celebration, but I remind you that the baby is not Jewish and this is not circumcision and certainly not the covenant of our forefather Abraham!

""For me, and for many in the Jewish people, this is a difficult and sad story. Really sad.".

""Those who bless me, and are likely to attack me, are simply missing the point. Because alongside all the blessings, the truth must be told, and one truth: The child, whose last name is 'HaLevi', but is the furthest thing there is from the Levites who performed sacred service in the Temple, was born to a Muslim Arab mother and is a Muslim for all intents and purposes who will grow up to a life of identity conflict.".

Hazan added: "Everyone can do what they want, but we need to remember - Jews marry Jews. Not with Christians or Muslims or Tibetans. But with Jews. Just like every people and religion marries within itself.".

""Remember, I have nothing against any person, and certainly not against their parents. But with all due respect to the parents, I would prefer that there not be such a big media celebration that would push others to do the same thing on an issue that is considered a silent Holocaust for the Jewish people!""

Hazan emphasized: "As I have said before, in choosing between a beautifully filmed love story and the future of the Jewish people, I choose the future of the Jewish people! We say no to assimilation - the people of Israel live!""
