According to a report on the Ynet website, the serious incident began at the boarding gate, when a pair of passengers told the waiting Haredi celebrant: "You are spreading the disease" - and later shouted at him in front of everyone: "Why don't you wear the mask on your nose too?".

Even after boarding the plane, the couple continued to humiliate the Haredi passengers, demanding that they sit away from them - saying: "Sit together, all of you, in a concentrated manner, because you are spreading diseases and we don't want to get infected from you.".

Eyewitnesses complained to the flight crew and stewards about the couple, and after a few minutes it was decided to remove them from the plane and remove them from the flight.

Shimi, who witnessed what happened on the flight, told Ynet: "I don't know why people have to behave like this. The couple were simply looking for Haredi people to humiliate them. Who talks like this? What have they done to them? Because they dress differently and lead a different lifestyle, is that a reason to speak to them in a bad way? They had to be taken off the plane, it was disgusting behavior.".

United Airlines responded: "United will not tolerate discrimination of any kind. When this incident was brought to our attention, we disembarked these passengers and they were reboarded on a later flight. We appreciate the quick response of our team who believe in a safe and respectful environment.".
