Kan News reported that this was decided today (Monday) by the Ministerial Committee for Shin Bet Affairs, which met to discuss the issue.
Two weeks ago, the professional committee, the Ciechanover Committee, recommended extending the security of Netanyahu's children for a period of six months from the end of his term - but the Prime Minister's Office demanded that the security be extended, so that it would last up to two years from the end of his term.
Ultimately, in a sort of compromise, it was decided that the security would continue for a year after the end of the term.
The Security and Emergency Department in the Prime Minister's Office responded: "In light of recent security threats against the Prime Minister's wife and sons that will harm them after the Prime Minister's term ends, all security agencies have been approved to provide a security response in accordance with the intelligence situation.".
The Prime Minister's Office stated: "The Prime Minister has no connection or involvement whatsoever in security considerations, and these are determined solely by professional security officials.".
