In his letter to Gantz, Nissenkorn wrote: "The attack against the rule of law is not constructive criticism nor an ideological struggle. It is a personal struggle, of one person, who seeks to tighten the noose around the neck of the system in order to terrorize it for his personal legal considerations. This reality requires us to continue to be on guard. In the struggle for Israeli democracy, we have no choice but to win.".

Mickey Zohar responded: "Avi Nissenkorn's late resignation from his position as Minister of Justice is ironic.

""If Benny Gantz had accepted my position, and had not insisted on keeping Nissenkorn in his position, we would not have had an election campaign and the government would have stood for a full four-year term.".

""It turns out that the work of the righteous is done by others.".
