He added: "This is thanks to the amazing work of the Ministry of Health, the health funds, the hospitals and the MDA. And most of all - thanks to you, the citizens of Israel, who are getting involved and coming to get vaccinated. We will continue like this and will also increase the pace even more.".

Prime Minister Netanyahu has set a goal that the number of daily vaccinations in the coming week should reach about 150,000. "I spoke over the weekend with the heads of the companies that supply us with the vaccines and told them that our goal by the end of this week is to reach 150,000 vaccines per day. This is fantastic, but such a scale is a world record. I asked them to match the rate of vaccine supply to the rate of injections, and they told me that they think they can do it.".

The Ministry of Health estimates that the goal is possible and can even be exceeded, as approximately 250 vaccination complexes will open in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health published data this morning showing that during the 24-hour period ending last night at midnight, 3,498 new cases of the coronavirus were diagnosed in Israel.

The rate of positive tests was 4.9 percent of all tests to detect patients.
