The government approved at noon (Friday) the quarantine regulations that will go into effect on Sunday at 5:00 PM, until January 9, 2021 - unless a decision is made to extend them.

During the lockdown, workplaces employing more than 10 employees will not be able to allow the simultaneous presence of employees at a rate exceeding 50% of the number of employees at the workplace, or 10 employees, whichever is greater, with the following exceptions: workplaces that provide essential services, enterprises providing subsistence services, enterprises with a special permit to employ employees during rest hours, and workplaces that engage in construction or infrastructure work, defense industries, and defense-supporting enterprises.

Beyond the aforementioned limit, the employer will be required to continue to meet the conditions of the purple note.

Other regulations:

1. Leaving the place of residence beyond 1,000 meters is prohibited, with exceptions such as going out to get vaccinated, medical or social treatment, a demonstration, a legal proceeding, going out for the purpose of a sports activity (other than by arriving at the place by vehicle), transferring a minor between his separated parents, going out to a workplace or to an educational setting whose activities are permitted, going out to attend a funeral, wedding or engagement (subject to the gathering restriction).

2. Leaving one's place of residence for the purpose of staying at another person's place of residence is prohibited.

3. Public and business places will be closed except for essential stores: food, hygiene, optics, pharmacy, electrical goods and products needed for essential home repairs.

4. Accommodation units and B&Bs, zoos, nature reserve safaris, national parks, national sites and memorial sites will be closed; places for providing non-medical treatment, including a hair salon and a place for providing beauty and cosmetic treatments; places for providing complementary medicine treatment; drive-in movie theaters; malls or retail markets and museums, as well as the cancellation of the option to open a restaurant through self-collection.

5. Regarding a place used for sports training - the operation of a place used for training or competition by professional athletes only will be permitted.

6. Cancellation of the possibility of holding practical driving lessons and a ban on organizing or participating in an organized trip.

Education:

1. Classes as usual for ages 0-6 and in grades 1-4 and 11-12. There will be no classes from grades 5 to 10.

2. Activities in open areas will be prohibited, practical studies at an institution for adult education or vocational training, studies in grades 13 and 14, which are continuation studies for high school studies intended for dropout or at-risk youth, and activities of youth movements will be prohibited.

3. Activities will continue for students in special education and for dropout and at-risk youth, as well as boarding schools, studies in immigrant classes, and access to an educational or vocational training institution for adults for the purpose of online learning from it for students who need it.

4. Trips will be prohibited.

In addition, the Ministerial Committee on Corona approved the Ministry of Health's proposed resolution to cancel the declaration of Eilat and the Dead Sea as 'green islands'.

The cancellation of the declaration will take effect on Monday, December 28th.
