The Binyamin Council inaugurated the new council building in Shaar Binyamin in a moving ceremony this week. The event began on Sunday morning with a farewell ceremony for the old council building in the settlement of Psagot, in the presence of previous council heads, Pinchas Wallerstein, Avi Roa, and current council head Israel Gantz.
In the afternoon, a Torah scroll writing ceremony was held in the new council building to honor the souls of the Atar family who were killed in a horrific car accident two years ago. The Torah scroll was donated by Yoel Maman, director of the construction supervision company.
The inauguration ceremony of the new council house was attended by government ministers, members of Knesset, heads of authorities and more. Among those who participated in the event were: Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin, Settlement Minister Tzachi Hanegbi, Deputy Interior Minister Yoav Ben-Zur and MK Moshe Aboutbul.
The head of the Binyamin Council, Israel Gantz, said at the ceremony: "Today, Binyamin rises to a new level! The new council building symbolizes the settlement's consolidation and strength. It honors our status as the largest council in Israel, and thus we will be able to serve the public faithfully and strive to provide the service that all residents of Binyamin deserve. The founding generation established history and established us here, and we have the mission and commitment to expand and nurture what we have built. We will humbly continue to work hard for the region and for the residents.".
On Monday, the rabbi of Jerusalem, the late Harav Amar, arrived at the new building and was honored with a mezuzah. Rabbi Amar blessed the residents of Binyamin: "May you have a good settlement, a peaceful and peaceful settlement, a settlement full of Torah and the fear of God, a settlement in which eternal joy will be upon your heads. May it be your will that over time you will connect with Jerusalem...and all of them will form one community, all of the cities and all of the settlements.".
