Another ceasefire? Egypt is reporting that members of the Palestinian delegation have agreed to another 72-hour ceasefire.

According to the report, Israel has not yet responded to the current initiative, and the Palestinians are awaiting the Israeli response.

Last night, Hamas' deputy head of the political bureau, Musa Abu Marzouk, a senior member of the Palestinian delegation, threatened that the Palestinian delegation would leave the talks today if the Israeli representatives did not come to the talks without preconditions. According to him, "the Palestinian people have nothing to lose, and they really have no choice: either to be killed under the siege or to be killed by bombing and aircraft fire.".

The head of the delegation, Azzam al-Ahmad, said in an interview with the Al Arabiya network that the Palestinian factions will leave "if they confirm to us that Israel will not return to talks without preconditions.".

However, according to reports in Egypt, the Palestinians have decided to remain in Cairo at least until tomorrow, for urgent meetings with representatives of the Arab League.

It is possible that the pressure exerted by the Arab League on Hamas, and its support for the Egyptian initiative, will lead them to agree on another ceasefire, and even reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement.

On the other hand, the Israeli delegation to the talks, headed by the head of the political-security division at the Defense Ministry, Amos Gilad, which returned to Israel on Friday morning, following the collapse of the negotiations, has not yet returned to Cairo.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear this morning at the start of a government meeting that Israel will not negotiate under fire.
