Hebrew University researchers submitted a new coronavirus report to the coronavirus cabinet today (Sunday) - ahead of the discussion to be held this afternoon.
The report shows that there has been a real increase in morbidity in all sectors.
Chat or phone: Why don't 'Maccabi' members have to run to the emergency room for everything?
The report's authors' forecast speaks of a sharp increase in the accumulation of seriously ill patients, alongside stability in mortality and recovery in the coming days.
The researchers further note that it is evident that there is no success in isolating foci of disease.
In the Haifa area, a picture of 'migration' of morbidity between cities is observed. In the Nazareth area, there has been significant leakage in recent days.
The Hebrew University researchers also note that in Jerusalem - the locality with the highest overall infection rate in the country - there were an average of only 2 infections per 10,000 people in the past week (in Majdal Shams there were an average of 18 infections per 10,000 people), but the situation in the city is problematic because in some neighborhoods the infection rate is particularly high.
The researchers' recommendations: local closures in communities or neighborhoods where there is an outbreak; ensuring reduced traffic in commerce, ability to investigate infections in malls/markets; encouraging working from home.
The authors of the report are Prof. Ronit Calderon-Margalit, Prof. Ran Nir Paz - from the School of Public Health and the Faculty of Medicine, Hebrew University and Hadassah, Prof. Yinon Ashkenazi, Prof. Doron Gazit, and Prof. Nadav Katz - from the Rakeh Institute of Physics) of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
