Galei Tzahal's crime reporter, Hadas Shayef, raised questions about the official mortality figures in the coronavirus pandemic in a tweet titled "How many people really die from coronavirus?".
""People in the middle of the road, telling the truth," tweeted Steif - and recounted a conversation with a cafe owner who told her: "My brother-in-law was very sick and died in the hospital in Jerusalem. They called his widow. They asked her to sign that he died of coronavirus, for 70,000 shekels.
""Why? Because they receive 220,000 NIS from the state for every patient who dies from coronavirus. The widow refused. Some agree...""
Steif's tweet was attacked by many netizens, and after a while she deleted the tweet.
Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem reacted sharply to a tweet published by Steif, according to which the hospital is offering payment to the families of deceased people in exchange for agreeing to say that they died of the coronavirus.
'"How much lower can the media affiliated with well-known reporters go," Hadassah said. "Hadas Shaif published a false report today that they are offering families of deceased people to confirm that the cause of death is coronavirus for a fee, while the hospital receives money from the state for every coronavirus death.".
'"Lies, low and humiliates anyone who even puts this in writing. Shame on you, Hadas Steif," the medical center said in its response.
Let us recall that even Prof. Yoram Les, who claimed for many months that the epidemic does not exist at all, admitted that there is a significant excess mortality in Israel that is a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
