Desi and the apple in honey: Hundreds of women and girls from Breslov demonstrated this evening (Wednesday) outside the home of Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem. The women, who carried signs with the logo "Kibbutz Shaagat Belarus", protested the abandonment of thousands of Hasidim stranded on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, on their way to Uman for Rosh Hashanah, while the Israeli government and Shas ignore their pleas - and demanded that they act to allow them to reach Uman before the holiday. One of the girls who spoke at the demonstration imitated the unforgettable speech of Desi Deri, the daughter of the Shas chairman, before he was sent to Ma'ashiyahu prison. "He has to wait for the kindness of the 'Red Cross' to give him a blanket? A charger to light his cell phone? I want to see my father, I want to," she shouted. "My father is sleeping on the road, and he doesn't have a blanket and they don't give him one, he has to wait for the kindness of the 'Red Cross' to give him a blanket.".
Members of the committee of Hasidim stuck at the border issued a call to Hasidim today: "Today is the last chance! Everyone should contact their wives and children in Israel and make sure they come to today's rally, under the house of Rabbi Aryeh Deri at 28 HaKablan Street in Jerusalem." [Gallery]
