Potato, Meat, and Tomato Pie: A Festive Recipe for a Holiday Meal

Ingredients (for a 26-inch pan):

3 potatoes for cooking
2 egg yolks
½ kg ground beef
1 onion, peeled and finely chopped
3 crushed garlic cloves
4 tablespoons Master Chef Italian tomato paste
1 cup Master Chef tomato puree
1 cup canned peas
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste

How to prepare:

1. Peel the potatoes, cut into quarters and cook in salted water for about 20 minutes until the potatoes are completely soft.

2. Mash until smooth, add egg yolks, season with pepper and, if necessary, salt, and mix until smooth.

3. Meanwhile: Heat olive oil in a pan and fry the onion and garlic until lightly golden.

4. Add ground meat and brown for about 5 minutes, add tomato paste and crushed tomatoes and peas and cook together for about another 5 minutes. Season.

5. Pour the meat mixture into a greased pan and press down firmly. Spread the mashed potatoes on top in an even layer.

6. Bake in the oven at medium heat, 180 degrees, for about 30 minutes.
