""For several years, a melody has been stuck in my head that a dear Jew named Shai Yitzhar Weinberg sent me, to the verse "To David, O Lord, give me light and salvation" from the Psalms," says Yaakov Shweki. "I had almost forgotten this stirring melody, but it turns out that it was simply waiting for its time.
This is the university that allows you to study from anywhere and at any time convenient for you.
""Then the terrible virus arrived and the world turned upside down. Anxiety, worries and fear in the streets. The panic was completely real. And suddenly this melody came back to me, and together with my friends Mandy Warsh and Itzi Waldner we turned it into a beautiful song with the musical production of my friend Tamir Tzur.
""I will fear no evil, for you are my strength. We may not feel the days of judgment with fear or worry. Even though our lives hang in the balance, fear rejoices with joy and confidence because the judge - the king who will decide our fate - is also the source of light and salvation. This song carries within it the promise, faith, and peace that come with the knowledge that God loves us and protects us.".
Producer Sharon Daniel: "For nearly two decades, Shweaki has been coming to huge shows in Israel every summer. The pandemic disrupted many plans for everyone, and ahead of the launch of the new single, we wanted to bring Shweaki as close to the Tower of David in the Old City of Jerusalem as possible.".
""Together with director Aharon Orian, we found ourselves projecting a video mapping of Shweki, a singer from the United States, combining the verses we say these days - that we may deserve a good writing and signature.".
