Health Minister Yuli Edelstein decided today (Tuesday), together with the Director General of his office, Prof. Hezi Levy, to appoint Carmel Hospital Deputy Director Dr. Sharon Al-Rai to the position of Deputy Head of the Public Health Unit.
Al-Rai said after her official appointment: "I am grateful for the opportunity and proud to join the excellent team leading the national response to the Corona crisis. I am confident that by joining forces we will be able to stop the pandemic, lead normal lives, and maintain the health of all of us.".
Minister of Health: "Dr. Sharon Al-Rai constitutes a significant reinforcement for the ministry's health services system and for actions to break the chain of infection. In this, she joins two additional significant reinforcements that I have brought in recent weeks: the ministry's Director General, Prof. Levy, and the project manager, Prof. Gamzo. I am certain that the three of them together, as responsible - each in their own field - for the fight against the coronavirus, will bring good news to the citizens of Israel in intensive activity against the coronavirus.".
