The military court at Ofer Camp sentenced terrorist Khalil Jabarin, who murdered Ari Fuld in a terror attack at the Gush Etzion junction in September 2018, to life imprisonment at noon (Tuesday), after he was convicted of intentionally causing death – which is the equivalent offense to murder in Judea and Samaria.

The minor terrorist was also convicted of three counts of attempted intentional homicide, because he visited three different locations before the attack, with the aim of stabbing, and of possessing a knife.

In addition, the court awarded compensation to the family.

Ari's mother, Mary Fuld, said at the beginning of the hearing: "As a mother, there are no consolations. As an Israeli citizen, there is justice and that is what we expect.".

Miriam, his widow, added: "We expect life imprisonment, nothing less. A fitting punishment for such a despicable act.".

Lt. Col. (Res.) Attorney Morris Hirsch, who represents the Fuld family, said: "It is a shame that the military court does not miss an opportunity to be lenient with terrorists. In addition to the life sentence sentenced to the despicable murderer, the court should have sentenced him to additional years in prison for the attempted murders for which he was convicted. Likewise, the court avoided addressing the fact that the terrorist is set to earn over five million NIS just for murdering a Jew.".

Ari, 45, a father of four from Efrat, was murdered on September 16, 2018, in the Rami Levy compound at the Gush Etzion intersection by a 16-and-a-half-year-old terrorist.

The terrorist waited for him and then attacked him from behind and stabbed him. Fuld managed to chase the terrorist and even shoot at him - until he collapsed. He was taken to the hospital, where he died of his wounds.

The murderer was arrested at the scene, before he could murder more people, due to the resourcefulness and bravery that Ari showed with his last strength.

The entire event was recorded on the security cameras in the complex.

Only after a year and four months was the murderer convicted based on his confession.
