
Data published this morning (Wednesday) by the Information and Knowledge Center of the Military Intelligence and the Ministry of Health indicates that a record number of people infected with the coronavirus have been recorded in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health reports that 1,320 new coronavirus patients have been identified in Israel in the past 24 hours.
As of this morning, there are 14,104 active patients, 107 patients in serious condition, and 36 on ventilators in hospitals.
The number of deaths from complications of the virus has risen to 343, after 12 people died in the last two days. 83 of the coronavirus patients are in serious condition, a slight decrease compared to recent days.
According to the report, a total of 32,560 people have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in Israel.
18,376 people have recovered from the virus. A total of 1,144,742 tests have been conducted so far.
According to the report, 25,570 coronavirus tests were performed yesterday, and the rate of positive results also recorded a negative record – 5.21% of all tests were positive.
There are currently 1,871 active patients in Jerusalem, 1,217 in Tel Aviv, 1,037 in Bnei Brak, 777 in Ashdod, 357 in Petah Tikva, 275 in Beitar Illit, 246 in Beit Shemesh, 197 in Arara in the Negev, 194 in Ramla, and this morning there are 192 active patients in Lod.
An especially high rate of positive tests was recorded, among other things, in Beitar Illit, which will be placed under lockdown starting today at noon - approximately 161,300 positive tests in the last seven days.
The city of Raanana, where it was announced yesterday that dozens of high school students were infected with the coronavirus during private graduation parties they held, has an especially high rate of 91% of positive tests detected in the last seven days.
Also leading the table: Kiryat Malachi, Bnei Brak and Modi'in Illit, where the percentage of positive tests was 9%, 10% and 11% respectively. Ra'anana, Kasi'fa, Kafr Qara, Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh and Tel Aviv.
The settlement of Rechsim also recorded an especially high rate of positive tests - 17%.
