Oshri Assulin, 26, from Kfar Saba, a convert who was approaching Breslav - died this evening (Sunday) in the hospital. He is the youngest person to have died so far in Israel from the coronavirus. The deceased, 26, was an outstanding soldier and recently converted. He even began teaching Torah lessons. Assulin, who was hospitalized over a month ago, was hospitalized in serious condition due to a rare complication in the heart muscle. He was put to sleep and ventilated, and during the hospitalization he underwent several resuscitations. He was, among other things, on an ECMO device that replaces the function of the heart and lungs. According to a report in Israel Hayom, the deceased arrived at Tel Hashomer Hospital with severe abdominal pain and fever, and when he was tested for coronavirus, he was found to be positive. In addition to coronavirus, he suffered from a multi-system inflammatory disease, which is accompanied by damage to the heart muscle and was apparently the first case reported in the world in an adult. This is a rare complication documented in children in the US, and in Israel, several cases of Haredi children who contracted coronavirus and suffered from the rare infection have also been reported, including 11-year-old Elad and 16-year-old Safed who were hospitalized at Rambam. The mayor of Kfar Saba, Rafi Sa'ar, eulogized him: "We were informed with great sorrow and dark grief of the passing of Oshri Assulin, a son of our city, whose life was cut short and he was only 26 years old when he died. Dear Oshri, a smiling young man full of life and joy, passed away after contracting the coronavirus several weeks ago and after a difficult battle with the disease. "From here, in my name and on behalf of all the city's residents, I send a warm hug and my sincere condolences to all the members of the dear family. Comfort from heaven. May his memory be blessed.".   The Ministry of Health announced this evening that 83 people were diagnosed with new and confirmed cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, with 72 of them having been sick since midnight. The number of active patients in Israel stands at 3,380, with 33 of them in serious condition, including 24 on ventilators. So far, 15,375 people have recovered from the coronavirus in Israel and 300 people have died after contracting the virus. The Ministry of Education reported on the incidence in educational institutions: • Total number of patients: 526 (out of approximately 2,300,000 students and approximately 200,000 teaching staff). • Total number of closed educational institutions: 186 (out of approximately 5,200 schools and approximately 20,000 kindergartens). • Over the past week, 15 schools and kindergartens have returned to their normal routine. During the coming week, another 46 are expected to return (schools: 26 kindergartens: 20). • 25,669 teaching staff and students are in preventive isolation (out of: 2.3 million students and approximately 200,000 teaching staff). As part of the operating principle of the education system, according to which in a place where there is morbidity, the educational institution is closed and the students and educational staff enter isolation until the end of the epidemiological tests.
