The campaign in the Gaza Strip is officially being led by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, and the Cabinet, but our eyes are seeing that the real decisions are being imposed on them from heaven. This fighting did not begin on their initiative from the beginning, even though they knew about the existence of the inferno tunnels and the long-range missiles.
The transition to more advanced stages of entry into the Strip was also dictated by the force of events and not by cold planning in advance.
This war is full of great miracles. The Iron Dome system cannot intercept all the missiles launched at Israeli cities, and some of them reach their destination, but miraculously there are no casualties.
Time and again we hear reporters and security forces speak in amazement of apparent miracles. Foreign media quotes terrorists expressing frustration about "the Jewish God who moves the missiles.".
Ask now
Now, as the magnitude of the threat posed by the attack tunnels becomes clear, questions are beginning to be asked about how we allowed this system to be dug in under our noses.
But this is naivety, since the entire way of thinking that has developed among us is of the here and now. We celebrate the Oslo Accords on the lawns and don't think about what will happen tomorrow. We leave southern Lebanon and ignore the terrorist monster that will grow there. We 'disengage' and turn a deaf ear to all warnings about what is to come.
But why go that far? All those who suddenly woke up to the tunnel industry, why are they silent in the face of the massive stockpile of dangerous missiles stored against us in Lebanon?
Why is no one tweeting about the blatant violation of UN Resolution 1701, which imposes an embargo on the transfer of weapons to Hezbollah? From time to time, reports are published about the number of missiles the organization has, the upgrading of its capabilities, and other means at its disposal, and it is clear to everyone that a confrontation with it will come – but in the meantime there is 'silence', and no one is speaking out.
If it weren't for the kidnapping and murder of the three boys, we would continue to talk about the successful 'deterrence' of Operation Pillar of Defense, and in the meantime, Hamas would be completing its preparations for the series of monstrous attacks it planned using the tunnel network.
But the heavens took pity on us and forced us to go on a campaign to destroy this threat.
But now, after we are already paying such a high price in blood, we must not stop halfway. The soldiers are sacrificing their lives so that this threat will be removed from us once and for all, not to buy peace for another year or two, and then they will have to go back in and shed blood, under much more difficult conditions.
The depth of exile
It is impossible to understand how the government is talking about 'agreements' and 'demobilization' again. We have seen the value of 'demobilization' in southern Lebanon. It is so ridiculous that it is impossible to even define it as a scattering of sand in the eyes of the public. There is one and only way to ensure demobilization - that we ourselves will see to it that they do not have such weapons, according to the format that was created in Judea and Samaria after Operation Defensive Shield.
These days we mourn the destruction of the Temple and the exile, and unfortunately it turns out that exile lies deep in the souls of the decision-makers. It is insulting to see how they apologize to the world for the very right of self-defense, and to what extent they are willing to endanger soldiers and civilians just to please that hypocritical world. This is the most difficult exile of all, which illustrates how much we need redemption.
