The Lag BaOmer event in Kiryat Joel, which annually attracts tens of thousands of Jews from across New York, from all ethnicities and sectors, will not take place this year.

As early as noon, at 2:15 PM New York time, the Satmar Rebbe delivered a sermon by telephone especially to residents of the Holy Land. This was after that evening, about fifteen minutes after the Maariv prayer, hundreds of Satmar Hasidim gathered in the Holy Land and lit candles in their homes, and then listened to the sermon.

At 9:15 PM New York time, the Maariv prayer and the counting of the Omer will be prayed at the Rebbe's house in Kiryat Joel, a ceremony that will be broadcast by telephone to thousands of Hasidim in New York, and then each one will light candles in their homes.

The Rebbe Shlita will deliver a special sermon to the residents of the United States, and afterwards the Satmar Choir will delight the public, who will dance at home with only family members.

Later, they will listen to a special sermon by Rabbi Elimelech Biderman.

The next morning, at 6:45, all members of the community will finish the Book of Psalms. After the morning prayer with the Rebbe and a "Lechaim" party that will take place after the prayer, special lessons will continue to be broadcast to the public by phone, throughout the day.

In the evening, while the Rebbe holds his table for the occasion of Hilula every year, this year the end of the Hagigah tractate and the Moed Seder will take place, and the beginning of the Yevmot tractate and the Seder Nashim, which are taught by Satmar Hasidim around the world as part of the "Yesodei HaTorah" group. Each person will set their table in their home with a special meal in honor of the Torah and the Lomidah, and at 7:00 PM the Rebbe will end the tractate and say the Kaddish as is customary.

The 'Tish' that he will hold in his private home will be broadcast by telephone to all Hasidic homes.
