The Knesset plenum began today (Wednesday) to vote on the opposition's thousand reservations to the rotation laws between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White Chairman Benny Gantz. The chairman of the committee that prepared the law, Eitan Ginsburg, said: "We seek to anchor this option of an exchange government and a rotation government in a Basic Law. The proposal does not change the democratic regime in Israel, nor does it harm democracy in Israel. It simply adds a new and additional way to form a government in the event of a political deadlock." After the vote on the reservations is over, the vote on the sections of the law itself will begin, which is expected to be approved in a second and third reading during the night.

Yesh Atid-Telem chairman Yair Lapid attacked the laws: "For three years, the prime minister has been waging a campaign against the rule of law in Israel. He and his people have been explaining to us for three years that we cannot trust the institutions of democracy. All of this is being replaced with the phrase 'the majority rules.' I agree that the majority rules, but that's not the only thing in democracy. This is not an emergency government. There is no such thing as an emergency government of 36 ministers and 16 deputy ministers. These laws are the product of suspicion and distrust between the parties. We all know that at the first opportunity you have, you should help each other.".

Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman said in the plenary: "Netanyahu wants to arrive tomorrow and receive 61 signatures and replace the chairman of the organizing committee. Then he will have two weeks to look for an excuse why he took the State of Israel to a fourth election. And I turn from here to Knesset Speaker Benny Gantz - think carefully tomorrow before you hand over 61 signatures and the chairmanship of the organizing committee to a Likud representative.".
