A one-and-a-half-year-old toddler from Elad was moderately injured after an iron gate closed on him, severing two of his fingers. Volunteer paramedics from the Elad branch of United Hatzalah, who were called to his home on Yehuda Hanasi Street, provided him with initial medical treatment.

Yeshayahu Freind, a United Hatzalah medic who arrived first at the scene, said: "This is a toddler who was playing in the building's parking lot and an iron gate of the parking lot closed on him, cutting off two of his fingers. After initial medical treatment that we gave him at the scene, he is being taken to the hospital, where doctors will try to save his fingers.".

The United Rescue Organization reiterates its call on parents and adults - especially during this holiday season - to be careful to supervise their children and youth, for fear of further disasters due to carelessness. They note that recently, apparently as a result of carelessness, there has been a drastic increase in cases of injuries and bruises.
