The head of the Gur yeshiva, Rabbi Alter, responded to a lot of people about tapes distributed by his opponents, in which his words were 'cooked' - and wrote: "I do not intend to comment on excerpts of words that are published with malicious distortion.".
The yeshiva's letter came after over the past month, recordings of Rabbi Alter's speeches were distributed that were cut and rearranged. "They would call the yeshiva's head, ask questions - and receive an answer," says one of his associates to the Haredim 10. "They edited the answer afterwards so that it would serve their purpose.".
