Destruction of the synagogue in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood: It appears that an agreement has been reached between the collectors of the Heichal Nissim synagogue and Deputy Mayor Zvika Cohen of the Shas party.

According to the agreement being formed, Zvika Cohen, on behalf of the synagogue's treasurer, will submit a request for allocation of the area where the synagogue was previously located, and the municipality will approve it.

Until then, the tax collectors will rent a space for the synagogue in the neighborhood, with businessmen taking care of financing the rent. A source involved in the affair told Haredim10 that the municipality's CEO, Attorney Amnon Merhav, was a partner in the agreement that is being formed.

At noon, the municipality's CEO, who came to congratulate Council member Israel Karlman of United Torah Judaism at his new office store, addressed the demolition of the synagogue: "This is a difficult day for me and for the Jerusalem Municipality. It is not easy for us to order the demolition of a synagogue, but we had no choice. The place was designated for the establishment of a Torah school for the residents of the neighborhood, and it is impossible to do both things at the same time." Merhav promised at the event that he would continue to work to find a solution to the problem.

In the afternoon, riots broke out in the neighborhood, involving young people who set fire to bins and protested the destruction carried out in the morning, while riot police and police arrived in the neighborhood to secure the demolition of the caravan. During the demolition of the synagogue, four protesters were arrested. They were released in the afternoon.
