The mayor of Tiberias and chairman of the 'Secular Right' list in the Knesset elections, arrived this evening (Wednesday) at a performance by the ultra-Orthodox public in Afula, which is being held in segregated areas, and was removed from the venue by riot police.  "ההופעה למגזר הדתי בעפולה אשר מתקיימת בהפרדת גברים ונשים החלה ומתקיימת כסדרה", נמסר מהמשטרה. "נבחר ציבור אשר נכנס למתחם מתוך כוונה ליצר פרובוקציה הורחק על ידי שוטרי משטרת ישראל, שנערכו במקום מבעוד מועד". במשטרה הסבירו: "זאת לאחר שהופעתו במקום הביאה לתגובות מקהל הציבור ועלה חשש להידרדרות לאלימות ולפגיעה בשלום הציבור".
