
Tens of thousands of revelers make their way to the Rashbi celebration in Meron: After months of preparations, the main stage of the Israel Police's readiness for the celebration has begun.
Since early Wednesday morning, Israel Police officers have been fully deployed in preparation for the expected arrival of hundreds of thousands of revelers.
This assessment will continue over the next 24 hours until the end of the festivities tomorrow - near midnight.
Thousands of Israel Police officers are taking part in the operation - including traffic police officers and the Border Guard. Numerous technological means are also being deployed, including a drone, an extensive array of security cameras, and a helicopter from the Israel Police's aerial system, to receive live aerial images of what is happening in the area.
Yesterday, an exercise was carried out under the leadership and command of the Israel Police, simulating emergency scenarios with casualties of several types for all forces operating in the Hilola complex and on nearby traffic routes, with the aim of examining the readiness and functioning of all emergency and rescue forces, and in addition to practicing the issue of command and control of the commanders of the various formations.
As part of a process of drawing lessons from various events, the police have improved a number of issues related to public security, safety, and maintaining public order - including:
Crowd control for an additional terminal near the mountain, adding additional crowd entrances to the moshav area, improving infrastructure on emergency routes and pedestrian traffic routes, placing large viewing screens to display the lighting events - all with the aim of preventing crowd congestion and crowding and maintaining public safety and security.
The Israel Police appeals to the visiting public to adhere to the following safety rules:
